A Little About Me |
|
| I think I have the best job in the world! I still get a buzz as every day brings new clients with a variety of health problems for me to work on, unravel the connections between symptoms and start to assist with pain relief, high blood pressure, insomnia, anxiety… The list is endless! I have been a Clinical Reflexologist for nine years now, after training at the highest level with reflexology ‘guru’, Beryl Crane at ITEC level and beyond. Like all professional therapists, I embrace the discipline of continued professional development and have amassed a number of new techniques to use alongside my reflexology in order to bring the body into balance, known as homeostasis. This is the technical term used to describe the state in which mind and body are working to their optimum in perfect balance. My list of extra aids to call on during treatments is ever growing and currently includes: auricular reflexology (working on the ear), acupressure techniques, facial and head reflexology, tui-na (Chinese massage, fully clothed) and cancer care reflexology. I have also this year been studying for a Diploma in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (or NLP), which I’ve found incredibly exciting. It’s the study of the mind relating to familiar mind patterns – ‘the way we think’. Sometimes the things we learn to feel are not always useful, for example, learning to fear spiders because your mum did. NLP can help you to RE-LEARN certain patterns to enhance your life, enable you to reach your true potential, overcome addictions, fears and phobias, relieve depression, anxiety and stress, and also control obsessive-compulsive disorders. The needs of my clients have driven me on in this cutting edge therapy.
